Lizard Brain was a challenge to myself in both memory exercise, and in having limited reference material to pull from. Years passed since the original underpainting was executed from a live model. Cellphone photos together with learned concepts of warm and cold tones as spacial signifiers led to this ethereal glowing picture. Symbolically, the bicycle references automatic machinations that are related to concepts of muscle memory and nostalgia. There was a sentimentality which was very much alive here.
